Same Difference Inclusive Theatre Company proudly presents “Same Difference: A Disabilities Awareness Play,” by Melissa Ann Santora, at the True Life Center (2111 N Main, Cedar City), Friday 4/1/11 at 7pm and Saturday 4/2/11 at 7pm.
Same Difference Inclusive Theatre Company was established in Montana in 2004, and is a community-based touring theatre company that features performers with and without disabilities. “Same Difference: A Disabilities Awareness Play,” is a collection of short scenes based on true experiences of people who have disabilities, their families, friends, educators, and service providers. The goal of the production is to educate audiences about disabilities issues, raise awareness of the strengths and attributes of people who have disabilities, and to provide a model of inclusion that may inspire others to be more accepting of people who have disabilities.
Directed by Founding Executive Director, Melissa Ann Santora, this production features the following local performers, who do and do not have disabilities: Jordyn Dunn, Susan Harty, Emily Horgan, Patrick Horgan, Mark Johnson, Amber Knudsen, Serene Martens, Brad McCarrel, Jamie Moore, Gerald Rheault, Tina Rheault, Morgan Rundquist, Melissa Ann Santora, Kayle Smith.
“Same Difference: A Disabilities Awareness Play” has been performed in more than 30 cities and 20 schools in Montana, in Texas, New York, Nebraska, and in Canada.
